LOVE is in the air and in my craft arsenal. I am so excited to share with you how I made these glittery paper mache LOVE letters to amp up my Valentine’s Day decor game.
If you’ve been here before, you may recognize this tutorial. I made these letters the same way I made my St. Patrick’s Day LUCKY letters a few years ago. Same concept and just as cute! And you don’t have to stick to the word LOVE; other word ideas might be XOXO, HEARTS, BE MINE, etc.
Supplies
- Paper mache letters
- Acrylic paint in various shades/colors
- Glitter
- Paint brushes
- Glue
- Pencil
Instructions
Start by painting each letter a different color using your acrylic paint. To save time (since I was cranking out a lot of crafts this past weekend) I just painted the front and sides, and skipped the back. I did three coats on each.

Let dry completely.
Use your pencil to draw a straight line about 1/3 of the way from the bottom of each letter. This will section of the area for the glitter. Make a line on each letter the same height.

Paint the bottom portion with glue.

Shake glitter onto wet glue, covering completely.

Shake off loose glitter. Repeat until the area is covered to your liking. Do this to each letter.

Allow to dry completely and then you’re ready to put them on display! I placed mine on my mantel but they would also look great in built-ins/book shelves, on a buffet table or in a hutch!

I hope you love them as much as I do. XOXO
