When my girls turned 10, we knew we wanted to do something extra special for their double-digit birthday. Since Lennon and Rowe love music, dancing, singing, and all things fun, a Michael Jackson-themed birthday party felt like the perfect fit.

We went all-in with a red, black, and silver color scheme, disco balls, sparkle, music-inspired details, and plenty of Michael Jackson touches throughout the party.

Red, Black & Silver Party Decor

The entire party was centered around red, black, and silver. We used red and black tablecloths, silver accents, disco balls, and giant silver balloons to create the party backdrop.

For the giant birthday balloons, we used a silver “1” and “0” to create a giant 10, which was such a fun way to highlight the girls’ milestone birthday.

We also made several of the party signs and banners ourselves using our Cricut. Having custom signs throughout the party made everything feel more personalized and helped tie the theme together.

Michael Jackson Party Photo Wall

One of my favorite parts of the party was the photo-op area.

We created a backdrop using a streamer backdrop, balloon arch from Etsy, and a custom arch sign that said “Happy 10th Birthday Lennon & Rowe.”

It gave the girls and their friends a fun place to take pictures throughout the party, and it also made a great focal point for the room.

Of course, the birthday girls had to get in on the photo fun too. They wore Michael Jackson T-shirts and black hats, which fit perfectly with the theme.

Michael Jackson Dessert Table

We also created a dedicated dessert table with a balloon arch and disco ball backdrop. The backdrop and balloon arch were purchased from Amazon and added the perfect amount of sparkle.

The dessert table included:

• Birthday cake
• Cupcakes
• Brownies
• Chocolate chip cookies
• Red, black, and silver sprinkles
• Michael Jackson-themed cake topper
• Custom cupcake toppers

For the cupcakes, I made the toppers with my Cricut. They included little disco balls, sparkly white gloves, microphones, sunglasses, and black hats.

It was such a fun way to bring all of the little Michael Jackson details into the dessert table.

Custom Party Signs

I also created cute custom signs for the different activities and games.

Having signs for things like the vinyl record decorating station, white glove decorating, and Michael Jackson games made the party feel more organized while also adding another decorative element.

Giant Silver Balloons & Disco Balls

No Michael Jackson party would be complete without disco balls!

We used disco balls throughout the party decor and added giant silver balloons to really make the space feel festive.

The combination of the silver balloons, disco balls, red and black decorations, and sparkle created the perfect backdrop for a 10th birthday celebration.

A Thriller-Inspired Drink Station

One of the most fun details was our “Thriller” drink station.

We used skull-shaped drink dispensers filled with green Hawaiian Punch and lemonade. To make the drinks even more fun, we added glitter cotton candy, gummy worms, and gummy brain candy that guests could use to dress up their drinks.

It was a simple idea, but the girls absolutely loved it!

Putting It All Together

The best part about this party was that we didn’t need everything to match perfectly. We simply stuck with our red, black, and silver color palette and added Michael Jackson-inspired details wherever we could.

Between the disco balls, custom Cricut signs, giant silver 10 balloons, photo wall, dessert table, Michael Jackson outfits, and Thriller drink station, the whole space came together into a fun and memorable birthday celebration.

And most importantly, it felt like their party — which is exactly what I wanted for their big 10th birthday.
