Michael Jackson Birthday Party Activities & Games

A Michael Jackson-themed birthday party wouldn’t be complete without plenty of music, dancing, and a few fun competitions!

For Lennon and Rowe’s 10th birthday, we planned a mix of craft activities, music games, dance competitions, and a movie night. It kept the girls busy and gave everyone plenty of opportunities to participate.

Decorate Your Own Vinyl Record

One of our main activities was a “Decorate Your Own Vinyl Record” station.

Each guest got a vinyl record to decorate with craft supplies. The girls could make their records as colorful, sparkly, or personalized as they wanted.

It was a great activity because it gave everyone something creative to do while the party was getting started.

Even better, the records doubled as a party favor, so everyone got to take their creation home at the end of the night.

Design Your Own White Glove

Next up was one of the most important Michael Jackson accessories: the white glove!

Each girl got a white glove to decorate. We set out craft supplies and let them create their own sparkly versions.

Once they were finished, the gloves became part of their Michael Jackson-inspired party outfits — especially when it was time to dance!

The girls got to take their gloves home as another party favor.

Name That Michael Jackson Tune

Then it was time to test their Michael Jackson knowledge.

For Name That Michael Jackson Tune, we played snippets of Michael Jackson songs and had the girls guess the song.

It was a fun way to get everyone listening and singing along.

Best Moonwalk

Of course, we needed a Best Moonwalk competition!

The girls took turns showing off their best moonwalk, and there were some pretty creative attempts.

It was one of those games where the more dramatic you were, the better!

Best Hee-Hee

Yes — we actually had a Best Hee-Hee competition.

Each girl got a chance to give her best Michael Jackson-inspired “hee-hee,” and this was easily one of the funniest activities of the night.

Best Performance

For Best Performance, the girls could sing, dance, or put together their own Michael Jackson-inspired routine.

This gave everyone the chance to get on their feet and show off their personalities.

Game Prizes

Of course, we couldn’t have competitions without prizes!

All of the prizes were purchased at Five Below, which made it easy to put together a fun prize selection without spending a ton.

Prizes included things like:

● Face masks

● Under-eye masks

● Nail polish

● Fake nails

● Hand sanitizer

● And other fun little beauty and self-care items

The girls loved getting to pick from the prizes after winning their games.

Michael Jackson Movie Night

After all the dancing and games, we had a movie night to wind things down.

We watched a the Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael”, which was the perfect way to end the evening — especially for the girls who stayed for the sleepover.

After spending the night singing, dancing, moonwalking, and being silly, it was nice to get cozy and relax with a Michael Jackson movie.

A Party Full of Music & Fun

The combination of crafts, games, dancing, and movie night kept the party moving without making the girls feel like they had to follow a strict schedule.

And honestly, watching a group of 10-year-olds decorate white gloves and then immediately put them on to attempt their best moonwalk was pretty entertaining!
