We carried the Michael Jackson theme all the way through the food and drinks for Lennon and Rowe’s 10th birthday party.
With our red, black, and silver color scheme, disco balls, and a little bit of spooky “Thriller” inspiration, even the dessert table and drinks became part of the party decor.
Michael Jackson-Themed Birthday Cake

The birthday cake was decorated with a Michael Jackson-themed cake topper, which helped pull the whole dessert table together.
We kept the cake simple but added the themed topper and our red, black, and silver color scheme around it.
Michael Jackson Cupcakes

For the cupcakes, I made custom toppers using my Cricut.
The toppers featured little Michael Jackson-inspired designs, including:
● Disco balls
● Sparkly white gloves
● Microphones
● Sunglasses
● Black hats
I love using a Cricut for birthday parties because you can create custom details that make everything feel coordinated without having to buy expensive pre-made decorations.
We also used red, black, and silver sprinkles throughout the dessert table.
The Dessert Table

The dessert table included:
● Birthday cake
● Cupcakes
● Brownies
● Chocolate chip cookies
● Red, black, and silver sprinkles
We set everything up against a disco ball backdrop with a balloon arch, creating a fun focal point for the party.
The silver and disco ball details really popped against the red and black decorations.
The “Thriller” Drink Station

One of my favorite details was our “Thriller” drink station, which brought a little spooky Halloween-style fun into the Michael Jackson theme.
We covered the drink table with a black tablecloth and skeleton garland for an extra creepy touch. We used skull-shaped drink dispensers filled with bright green Hawaiian Punch and lemonade.
For the toppings and mix-ins, we used a black cauldron and ghost-shaped bowls to hold all of the creepy candy. The girls could grab gummy worms and gummy brains to add to their drinks, while glitter cotton candy added a fun, sparkly element.
The combination of the green drinks, spooky candy, black tablecloth, skeleton garland, cauldron, ghost bowls, and glitter cotton candy made the drink station feel like a mini “Thriller”-inspired spooky setup.
And, of course, the girls thought it was so fun to make their drinks with gummy worms and brains!
A Dessert Table That Doubled as Decor
I wanted the dessert table to be more than just a place to put food, so we incorporated the same party details throughout the setup.
The red, black, and silver color scheme, disco balls, balloon arch, themed cake topper, Cricut cupcake toppers, and sprinkles made the dessert table feel like another part of the party decor.
And of course, the girls loved having a table full of treats to snack on between dancing and games!
