You know those family photo sessions where the outfits are cute, the location is dreamy, the kids are actually smiling — and you somehow don’t have a mental breakdown getting it all together?
Yeah… I didn’t think those were real either — until now.
We recently had the best time shooting family photos with the amazing @britthamptonphotography and I still can’t get over how smooth, fun, and heart-meltingly perfect the whole thing turned out.
Britt is a newer friend of ours (bonus: she has kiddos the same age as ours — total parenting win). She instantly connected with our kids and had them giggling, cooperating, and scouting out the perfect photo ops. They were even posing Nick and me for her! I don’t know what kind of sorcery she was using, but it worked.
She found us the perfect location in Grand Rapids, OH — think riverfront charm, cozy small-town vibes, wildflowers, and beautiful soft light. Add in some coordinated outfits (hello blush pinks, earthy browns, and a flowy green dress I’ll never stop loving) and it all felt like a scene out of a storybook. This green dress is EVERYTHING and I can’t wait to find another occasion to wear it.

The best part? We just beat the rain. As in it started on the drive home. But somehow, we got all the magic captured in time.
Within 24 hours, Britt sent us a sneak peek (which had me crying happy tears on my couch and sending them to all my family and friends), and not long after, the full gallery arrived — every photo a total heart-melter. Her editing style is warm, real, and full of joy — just like the session itself.
If you’re in the Toledo area, run, don’t walk to book a session with her. Britt recently moved back and is growing her business — and honestly, she’s just as much sunshine as she is talent behind the camera.
