I had so much fun making these DIY Bunny Bags. It brought me back to elementary school and cutting out paper snowflakes for some reason? Unfortunately I don’t have a pattern to share with you all, I made my own through a lot of trial and error. But hopefully through the images I provide in this post you can create one for yourself as well.
Once I finally figured out exactly how to cut the bag, I used the folded bag as a template and traced it onto cardstock which I then used as my template on the rest of my bags for ease and consistency.
When finished, you can fill the bags with all sorts of things like plastic Easter eggs, Easter candy, party favors, snack mixes, etc. I hope you have as much fun making these as I did!
Supplies

- Paper bags (white or brown, I am using white and they are smaller than normal lunch bags)
- Glitter cardstock (gold/green/light blue/pink or whatever matches your color scheme
- Shaped glitter
- Ribbon or tulle
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
Instructions
Start by folding the paper bag in half, length wise.

To create the shape needed, use your pencil to draw a curved line from the top corner (unfolded side) to about 1/3 of the way down the folded side.
Then, draw a triangle like shape on the unfolded side, in the middle. The point of the triangle should go about 1/3 toward the center.
This is hard to explain so see the image below. Like I said, trial and error and then use the folded bag to create a stencil once you are happy with how it looks.

Follow the lines to cut the bag. When you open the bag and lay it flat, it should look like a bunny!

Next, create a stencil for the “inner ear”. Then, use the stencil to trace and cut out two ear pieces for each bag using glitter card stock.

Glue the inner ear to each ear on the front of the paper bag and allow to dry.

Next you want to add some sparkle to the ears. Glue glitter shapes along the edges of the ears to your liking. Allow to dry.

Flip the bag over and glue a cotton ball tail onto the back of the bag. Allow this to completely dry as well.

Now it is time to fill those bags. I added a couple candy filled eggs to mine for the tutorial, but a think I may fill them with pretzel bunny bites and put them at each kids’ plate on Easter.

Once filled, tie ribbon or tulle around the middle to give the bag more of a bunny shape. Add an Easter tag if you want, too! My favorite tags are always from Thread Mama.
