Bookmark Class Valentines

You guessed it…I’m one of those crazy moms who makes homemade Valentines for her kids’ classes each year. I always start with the best of intentions but about halfway through the 60+ Valentines I am filled with regret. But by the time I finish I am super proud of myself and happy that my children will have something unique to gift their classmates.

This year, for the sake of my sanity, the twins are handing out the same Valentines (thank goodness they are in separate classes). The theme is reading and I used acrylic bookmarks, friendship bracelets with Valentine phrases and tags with several different reading + Valentine quotes…. Like “You are read-lously awesome” and “You make my heart skip a page”. Cute, right??

Here is a list of supplies and instructions to make your own!

Supplies

Instructions

Separate the letters into a variety of Valentine sayings like “Be Mine”, “Love Ya” and “Cutie Pie”.

Tie a knot at the end of a piece of the string and create your friendship bracelet by adding a variety of colored beads and your phrases. Tie off the string at the opposite end but do NOT tie it together like a bracelet. Be sure to leave a few inches of empty string after the knot.

Tie the end of the bracelet to the bookmark through the hole at the top.

Print and cut out the Valentine tags. Punch a hole in the top left corner of the tag. Be sure to have the kids sign them!

Cut around 8-10 inches of tulle and yarn. Push/string this through the bookmark hole. You may need to use the tip of a pencil to help push it through.

Tie the tag to the bookmark with the yarn and then tie into a bow.

And now you are ready to hand out to the class!
