Candy Cane Bows

Bows are all the rage so when some clever someone came up with the idea to turn mini candy canes into bows, it was inevitable that the DIY would go viral. And it did. So here is a quick post of me trying out this trend for myself!

While it is a pretty simple process, the bows are VERY fragile so please keep that in mind. The finished product looks great in a bowl or on top of a dessert. I am planning to use these on our cutout cookies during our cookie decorating party but they would also look adorable on cupcakes or a cake!

Supplies

  • Mini candy canes
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 200 degrees and line backing sheets with parchment paper.

Unwrap candy canes and crisscross two on top of each other to form the shape of a bow. Repeat this process with several more candy canes.

Place in oven for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, remove the pan and pinch and shape the bows a bit while they are soft. I will say, they will be a bit hot!!

Next, add a small, curved piece of candy cane to the middle of the bow to look like a knot. Place back in the oven for 10 more minutes.

Remove from oven after 10 minutes and shape a bit more until they look like bows! Allow to cool completely and then remove very carefully.

They are so whimsical and sweet. I look forward to perfecting this process next year!!
