For as long as I can remember, I have always wrapped garland around my stair railings. And my mother did this before me. I love how it looks, but after 10+ years of the same decor, it was time to bring it up a notch. Ornament garland was the perfect addition and really helped to tie in the colors of the decor throughout my house into my entryway. Making the garland is very easy, but I had a bit of difficulty hanging it. Next year I think i will use command straps.
Definitely use shatterproof ornaments. Take it from me if you do not, some WILL fall off and shatter. I created this garland a few years ago with a mixture of glass and shatterproof and I finally took the time to re-make it this year with ALL shatterproof bulbs.
Supplies

- Shatterproof ornaments
- Floral wire
- Tulle
- Wire cutters/scissors
- Evergreen garland
Instructions
Wrap your railings with the evergreen garland.
Unwind a few feet of floral wire. Keep it wound up at one end so the bulbs don’t keep sliding off. You can continue to unwind from the bottom as you go until you get your desired length.

“String” the ornaments onto the wire. Switch between size, color, glitter vs. no glitter, etc. Keep adding ornaments until the garland is as long as you want it to be.

Cut tulle and tie bows throughout the garland.

Cut the wire and secure each end by looping the wire a few times through the last ornament on each end.
Hang to your railing using additional wire, yarn or command straps.
