We recently embarked on an adventure where we learned all about the science and history behind pinball machines when we unboxed Little Passports’ Science Expedition Pinball Party kit. The kit included all the supplies needed to build our own pinball machine (with instructions that my six and eight-year-olds could follow and assemble with minimal adult assistance) and a booklet that included information regarding the history of the pinball machine, the physics behind making the game work and fun pinball-themed activities like a word search and a Pinball Paths chart.

The pinball machine took about twenty minutes to assemble and came with a sheet of stickers so my kids could decorate it. You could also color the machine with markers or even paint it to make it more unique.

When finished, the machine actually worked! We took turns transferring energy from our hands to the flippers to see who could earn the most points. It took a combination of luck and gravity to build skill in this game! It has been a few days since we finished building the machine and it is still providing hours of play and excitement (currently we have set it up at a Barbie arcade). We are looking forward to checking out our next kit, a Science Expedition Roller Coaster!
